General register of employee records – REGES Online30 Mai 2025

The Ministry of Labor and Social Solidarity has announced the launch of the REGES Online project, a digital platform that will fundamentally modernize the General Register of Employee Records, transforming a bureaucratic process into a fully online system, accessible to all employers and employees in Romania.

The project is financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), under Component 7 – Digital Transformation, representing an effort to digitalize public administration.

The new platform will eliminate dependence on the local Revisal application, which requires installation and periodic updates on each employer’s equipment, replacing it with a web-based solution accessible from anywhere, using a simple online account and internet connection.

Through REGES Online, employers will be able to submit and update in real time information regarding individual employment contracts and their modifications, without the need to physically submit files or go through cumbersome bureaucratic procedures.

The platform will include modern features such as automatic data validation, alerts for employers regarding deadlines or errors, and a complete and centralized history of each employment contract, which can be consulted at any time.

One of the most important advantages brought by REGES Online is the ability for each employee to directly access their own data in the register, including professional history, concluded or terminated contracts, and changes made by the employer.

This level of transparency will significantly reduce the risks of abuse, incorrect reporting, or lack of information, giving employees control over their own rights and contractual situations, in a clear, standardized, and accessible format.

For employers, the system will simplify administrative tasks, reduce the risk of errors in completing and reporting data, and lower costs caused by non-compliance or penalties.

REGES Online will also allow automatic integration with company IT systems, so that reporting to the Labor Inspectorate can be done directly from the human resources or accounting software already used within companies.

The implementation of the system is planned for the upcoming period, in parallel with testing and validating technical functionalities, and the transition will be supported by guides, training sessions, and assistance provided by the authorities for all user categories.

Through this initiative, the Ministry of Labor aims not only to modernize digital infrastructure but also to reduce undeclared work, improve national data collection, and strengthen a fair and transparent labor environment.

REGES Online marks a major shift in how labor relations are managed in Romania and paves the way for faster, clearer, and more efficient interaction between employers, employees, and the state.

This project is another example of how digitalization can bring concrete benefits to economic and social life, helping reduce bureaucracy, increase compliance, and boost trust in public institutions.

For full details about the functionality and benefits of the REGES Online platform, consult the official document published by the Ministry of Labor.

If you have questions about implementation, obligations, or integrating the new digital processes into your company’s activity, the Cabot team can offer specialized support.
